Beer Wars will be screened at the historic Byrd Theatre as a fundraiser for the Byrd Theatre Foundation. Attendees have the opportunity to sample some outstanding canned craft beers in the city where canned beer was born 75 years ago
(fun fact: Krueger's Cream Ale, the world's earliest canned beer, was first sold on January 24, 1935 in Richmond).

Join us as the Byrd returns to her newsreel roots, giving the public front row seats to history as the Byrd Theatre Foundation, WTVR 6 and Comcast present the 2009 Presidential Inauguration to the Richmond community. Our gift to start the new year right.
Lyric Avenue, Richmond's own Poetry based variety show, returns to the Byrd for 2009!

Take a tour of the Byrd Theatre to see and learn the history of the Grand Movie Palace. Learn about the underground spring that conjures images of "Phantom of the Opera". Find out about the 4 rooms of Mighty Wurlitzer Organ instruments and pipes above the stage built in 1928. See the Byrd's unique mixture of old and new projection technology. We'll be serving Champagne and Light Hors d'oeuvres.
Guests will be welcome to stay for the 7:15 feature
